Icon Truth Meme

King K
Since there's a lot of icon hostility floating around, I decided to do this:
ICON TRUTH MEME
-Comment with your username and people will comment with what they feel about your icons. COMMENT TO THOSE PEOPLE ANONYMOUSLY, even if it's good or bad. Feel free to use examples, but please try not to hotlink. If you need to, use a regular link to an image.

So, anonymous is on, IP is off. PIMP THIS PLEASE.
And please don't be rude when commenting, there is a difference between constructive and destructive criticism.

Also, even if you feel like you're not the best icon maker, please comment anyway, or comment to other people. This is supposed to help people grow, and see their strengths and weaknesses.

SO DO IT. THANKS.

I adore how airy your icons are, they're always cropped interestingly.

i love that you are evolving as an icon maker, and you try new styles. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't, but generally they look great!

You have a great style developing. A little bit cocky, but hey, that happens I guess. You're becoming a great iconmaker though.

You're a really surprising icon-maker. I can't say I love all of your icons - overall, I like them, but they're not gorgeous and I wouldn't use them. Usually, your use of black and white is not the best I've seen (example (http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a14/is_icons/Buffy/icbuffy.jpg)) while other times, it's really stunning (example (http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a14/is_icons/Random%20Television/GAunreal2.jpg)). I'm watching this entry (http://community.livejournal.com/operation_alias/6064.html#cutid1) at the moment, and I could say that your coloring is very good, though it doesn't outstand.

BUT - I admire that you try so many styles and try to make creative, original stuff. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but it's giving you a great knowledge base that shows up in your recent icons. For example, the ones you've done for LIMS challenges lately - they're awesome (example (http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a14/is_icons/Random%20Television/24.jpg)), and I would definately use them. They're original and beautiful, which is a rare combination nowadays.

You have a great experimental style and you use brushes with a really sensitive touch so that they become intigrated into the icon as opposed to squatting on top of it yelling "BRUSH!!!"
You also have a fu way of juxtaposing color with black and white and a really strong sense of text placement and usage.
Once in a while you have a lsight problem with image quality/pixilation, but that's minor compared tto the positives you posess!

some of your icons i adore, some of them are blah. i think you're on your way to becoming really good but you need to make sure you don't get all arrogant because noone likes stuck up icon makers!

Your icons are good, but I think you're still developing your skills. Keep experimenting, and remember not to let your growth as an artist make you too arrogant.
